Other Parent Support
Here are some questions and answers to help you think about how best to support your child through learning choices.
My child is in school, who else can offer help about their future learning choices?
In school you and your child can talk to form tutors, careers or PHSE tutors who will be able to give you some information about future options particularly about what is available in school. Most schools hold KS4 and 6th form information evenings where parents and students can find out more about options available. It is important to try and attend these to talk to subject teachers. 6th form staff are always happy to talk to through options.
My child is thinking about going to College who can tell me what is available?
Local Colleges all produce Prospectuses - these can usually be found in libraries or Connexions Offices. They are also available online. To talk to someone in person, all the Colleges hold regular advice evenings where you can go along and talk to courses tutors to gain more information about courses. Connexions are also always happy to discuss College and other options with you.
