Higher Education
Where can I get advice about Higher Education finance?
A good starting point would be the Direct.gov website which has a special area all about HE finance (see the links section here). If you want to talk to someone about your particular circumstances contact your local Connexions Adviser.
What financial support is available for me if I want to enter Higher Education?
Generally fiancial suport for students in Higher Education comes in two forms - money to help you pay for your studies (tuition fees) and money to help you pay your normal living expenses such as rent, food and bills (student loan). It is highly likely that you will have to repay much of this money when you leave HE and find work. However it is worth pointing out that there is additional financial support available for those who come from lower income families and also that you do not need to repay money until you are earning above a certain salary each year. There is much evidence to show that people who gain qualifications through Higher Education will earn much more over their lifetime than those without, so short term debt can be made up in greaterlong term wealth.
What are Dance and Drama Awards?
Dance and Drama Awards are available from 22 private dance and drama schools in England. Whether you qualify depends on your age nationality or residency status. For more information go to Direct.gov.uk or speak to a Connexions Personal Adviser.
How much will university cost from September?
